The breakfast was good with fruit juice, yoghurt or cereal and there was the choice of a full english (large or a smaller portion) and a vegan option. Breakfast was from 0800 to 0830 so be punctual, although the proprietor did personally wake up a guest by knocking on their door when it was getting close to the 0830 cut off. The rooms were very modern, clean and spacious. We went for the family room which had a double bed and a single bed even though there was only the 2 of us - the size of the room allowed us to spread out. The double bed mattress was firm and there were a selection of pillows for the connoisseur to choose from. The room had USB charging points in a few of the wall sockets and the radiator system was operational which was necessary when we stayed as it allowed us to just take the chill off the room. A towel radiator was also operational in the bathroom which served to both heat the room and dry our towels. The shower was large, modern and had a sufficiently powerful spray to give an meaningful wash. Body wash and hand soap dispensers were full. There was a kettle in the room with tea and coffee making options. The custard creams disappeared within 5 minutes of arriving in the room.

The Farmers Inn is run by a lovely couple. They are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Rooms and bathrooms are a good size, quiet and thoughtfully organised. An entrance hall within the room ensures that you do not track dirt into the bedroom when it is raining. Rooms are beautifully lit and can be switched to low bed side light at night. The local community is friendly. One can join in conversation with locals and other Inn guests if desired. Food is excellent with a lot of choice. The scenery and walks along the river and coast were fabulous particularly with autumn colour matching some of the deep red stone on area houses. There is no end to the attractions in the area but it was not crowded.

Friendly welcome, very nice quiet room with attractive decoration. Evening meal was very enjoyable, the steak pie and lasagne being of high quality. Good cask ale too. Breakfast was excellent. The bacon, sausages and egg were good quality. We appreciated the opportunity to make our choice the night before. Overall it was hard to fault the place and we will return.

This was a family friendly place in a tranquil spot run by and catering for real people. Lovely atmosphere pub with nice food in the evening The family room was a good price, quiet and spacious with parking, tea facilities, breakfast & wifi included. The shower was brilliant with lovely hot water. Lots of running and walking routes nearby.

Cannot fault the accommodation, food or staff. We had a fantastic few days there. Excellent location for touring around the area. Chalet was clean and was really like home from home with comfy chairs and a big telly. Food was of the highest standard and homemade burgers to die for . Staff were lovely and welcoming.
